My name is Kate and I love all things yoga. My yoga teacher journey began when I traveled to Kauai in 2019 to attend a 200-hour yoga teacher training for the purpose of gaining a better understanding of how yoga worked to improve my physical and mental wellbeing. At the time, I couldn't have known how deciding to attend a yoga teacher training would create such a beautiful shift in my life. I began teaching yoga as soon as I returned home. Two years later, I traveled to Mexico and attended an additional 100-hour training focused on deepening my understanding of the yin and restorative yoga modalities. Again, I received training which shifted my life in an unexpected way. I discovered that not only did I love having the opportunity to hold space for others while they embodied their yoga, but that my ability to guide others in a somatic yoga practice was needed by many people. Because I love learning, in 2024, completed my 300-hour Kundalini training with a focus in Ayurveda and an additional 300-hour ytt with a focus in Tantric philosophy, advanced postures and sequencing, anatomy and physiology, and Ayurveda. While I have gained knowledge through all of my training and throughout this teaching journey, I live in the awareness that my primary role is to be a life-long yoga student. Aside from practicing and teaching yoga, I love spending time with my husband and kiddos. My free time finds me enjoying coffee with friends, traveling the world to see all of the beaches, jungles, forests, and deserts that I can in this lifetime, and taking in sunsets while sitting on the beach near our home away from home in Costa Rica.

Yoga is not a work-out; it is a work-in. And this is the point of spiritual practice, to make us teachable, to open up our hearts, and focus our awareness so that we can know what we already know and be who we already are. -Rolf Gates
